Teeth Whitening (Bleaching)

Teeth whitening treatments are commonly preferred to meet the aesthetic expectations of patients who are dissatisfied with the color of their teeth. The procedure can be applied in two different ways: at home or in the clinic.

In the home whitening method, custom-made trays are prepared, and the whitening gel is applied into these trays as prescribed by the dentist. The trays are worn for 4–6 hours a day, and the duration of the treatment varies depending on whether the case is mild or severe.

The in-clinic whitening procedure takes approximately 1 hour. Since results are achieved much more quickly, this method is generally preferred.

Satisfactory results can be achieved with teeth whitening treatments in cases of superficial discolorations ranging from moderate yellow-brown to light gray, caused by smoking or the consumption of coffee or tea. Whitening procedures may be risky for patients with severe tooth sensitivity, deep micro-cracks in the teeth, pregnant women, and very young individuals.

  2. Isolation of the gums for the teeth whitening procedure

  3. Application of the teeth whitening gel
