  2. How is an Implant Applied?

As a result of recent studies, screw-shaped implants have become the most preferred implants due to both ease of application and long-term success.

Implants are generally placed at suitable points in the jaw through a minor surgical procedure performed under local anesthesia, and then left for approximately two months to integrate with the bone.

In the next stage, abutments that will support the prostheses are placed on the implants, and routine prosthetic procedures begin.

This treatment process takes approximately 2.5 to 3 months from the examination to the completion of the treatment.

Multidisciplinary Approach

Although implant procedures are generally considered a simple surgical operation, the collaboration of an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and a prosthetic dentistry specialist is the most suitable approach for success. After the teeth are placed in the mouth, the tissues around the implant should be monitored every three months by a periodontist.
