Tooth Crowding Problems

Tooth crowding may occur due to genetic factors inherited from the family, but it can also develop as a result of the early or late loss of primary (milk) teeth. In addition, certain harmful habits in children (such as bottle feeding and thumb sucking) may also cause dental deformities in the front teeth area.

Crowding in the Front Teeth Region

When teeth remain in the mouth longer than their normal eruption period, a situation such as overlapping teeth may occur. Primary teeth act as guides for permanent teeth. As permanent teeth erupt into their proper position, the roots of primary teeth resorb, the teeth become loose, and eventually fall out. If they do not fall out naturally, they should be removed by a dentist.

Teeth Erupting Behind Other Teeth

In cases of narrow jaws and early bite problems, it is possible to expand narrow jaws between the ages of 8–10. The aim of this treatment is to eliminate crowding at an early age or to make future orthodontic (braces) treatment easier.
