In cases of multiple missing teeth, a bridge is a permanent dental restoration that compensates for the gaps by using the nearest adjacent teeth as supports. However, the teeth used as supports must be healthy and strong enough to withstand the forces applied to them.

Maryland Bridges

For a single missing front tooth, Maryland bridges can also be an option. The teeth on either side of the gap are left untouched, and only wings attached to the back provide surface retention.
