They are preferred in cases of extensive tooth loss or areas ending with toothlessness.
If there is tooth support, they are called partial dentures; if no teeth are present, they are referred to as complete dentures.

Partial Removable Dentures

These are prepared with both tooth and tissue support in cases of extensive tooth loss involving a large area.
Retention is provided with clasps, and chewing forces are distributed evenly to both the teeth and the supporting tissues.

Precision Attachment Dentures

These are used in cases where clasps are aesthetically undesirable and there is sufficient tooth support available.
Retention is achieved through precision attachment systems hidden inside the teeth, allowing for a more natural appearance.

Overdenture Prostheses

Teeth that can be retained in the mouth, even if they are tilted or elongated, are shortened and fitted with telescopic crowns or precision attachments. These teeth are then used as support for the removable prosthesis.

The remaining roots help prevent bone loss and preserve proprioceptive sensation.

Complete / Full Dentures

When all teeth in the mouth are lost, the prosthesis is fully supported by resting on the soft tissue surfaces.
These fully tissue-supported prostheses are commonly known as “full dentures.”
